When released in 1999, the Mazda Premacy has been one of the cheapest 7 places available on the market. The platform used 1999 Mazda Premacy CP. It was available with front or four wheel drive and was equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. As a Premacy was based on a sedan platform, which was less modular than some if its opponents, as Opel Zafira and the Toyota Ipsum and was therefore relatively easy to maneuver. The new model is on sale since summer 2005. Now sold under the Mazda5 in all markets outside of Japan.
