In this post I would like to discuss existing and new business models in the industry wireless.
Activities related to the business model of value chains are creating services, identity management, service delivery and billing. The main players in the ecosystem are the carriers handset vendors, the owners of the platform (for example, Symbian, Android), application providers and content partners. In different business models, players of different ecosystems attempt to control most activities. There are basically four business models that exist today in one form or another.
Carrier model of domination: In this model, users visit the website of the company to display and download / Use the portal services (Also known as a walled garden). The walled garden leads the user navigation in specific areas to allow access to certain material, or block access to other materials. Traditionally companies have followed the business model walled garden and all entities controlled value chain business model. This model is important when the wireless industry has been in early childhood. The companies were ordered to provide end to end solutions to users. In this model, content providers need catch up with the news of his presence in the company portal. The carrier is responsible for marketing the service users and also for billing and collection. In return, the holders of a significant share of income (up to 50-60%) more by user access. The most common examples of this model Vodafone Live were NTT DoCoMo i-mode, Airtel Live. AOL walled garden is the most successful on the Web and in a moment of time, according to The Economist, 40% of time spent by Americans in the site was in the walled garden AOL
Prevalence Device Model: In this model, the supplier of the control device, platform and content and application partners. Supplier partnership with the device service provider that provides or store or in your own portal applications. In this case, the control activities seller device key to creating, implementing, managing identity, service delivery and billing. Carriers to obtain access and income they have a responsibility management of shared identity. This leads to the differentiation of device vendors, but at least the carriers. In this situation, the adoption and use of data is generally high and the share of revenue is best for content partners. However, the content partners are required to take a certain element of marketing, billing and care in exchange for sharing revenue higher. In addition, the cost of development services is likely to be highly developed that is required for each separate device vendor. The most common examples of this are Apple and RIM. Apple and RIM have full control over the value chain and decide on services
Platform Domain Model: This model, the platform's operating system dominant motive is. The platform is available through many equipment suppliers and therefore the effort development by the content and implementation partners is lower. There are few opportunities for service differentiation for carriers and suppliers devices. The players have content associated with the owner of the platform. The company obtains the user access revenues and revenues services is shared between the owner and partner of the platform content. In this model, the manufacturer of your device platform replaces the model of domination device. content partners to improve the sharing of revenue (up 70%) in exchange for billing, care and marketing. Symbian and Android are examples of this type of approach
Application Domain Model: This model is very similar to the Web. Application is accessible using the company as the pipe. The carrier receives the access rate of users, but the revenue will service the entire contents and the owner of the application. Building activities services, identity management, service delivery and billing is done primarily by the owner of the application. Marketing and responsibilities are also provided care with the owner of the application. The function of the platform owner and do not change in this case. Because of the multiplicity of devices and platforms, service and cost of applications development is very high. Facebook Linkedin, Google Gmail customer may be examples of this approach. But there are not many examples of claims on this model
There are many changes taking place simultaneously in space wireless. The platforms are changing operating systems business owners (OS) for the property industry operating system to open the OS industry collaboration. Carriers can lower the walled garden walls because of user requirements and pressures on content and application providers. New opportunities are being developed to allow content providers to bypass all of the company. All these changes require a change of business model in the wireless industry
The emergence of business model should ensure optimum that consumer interests are served and the interests of consumers are lower if the whole or most of the value chain is controlled by a single large player. In this respect, the model of platform dominance is probably more suited to the needs of consumers. Because of the increased basis, development costs tend to be lower and all stakeholders of the ecosystem is likely to have the same weight as the model dominant platform. However, the result of the success of any business model based on the results of the power play between the various entities of Ecosystem

Annoying wireless pop-up on computer??!?
I'm using a laptop with Windows Vista, and every time I log in to my account, a little orange flashing tab comes up on my navigation bar with the word "wireless" in the title. If I click on it, then it asks for my administrator's password. What IS this thing? Has anybody else experienced this before? Does anybody know what is causing this? It's really irritating and I would like to know if and how it can be stopped.
Well, I can't find anything on your exact problem. But, startup programs that run when you log into your account can be turned off by doing this:
1. Click the start orb on your desktop.
2. Click inside the "start search" box and type "msconfig" and hit enter.
3. Navigate to the "startup" tab, and scroll down until you find what may be starting up automatically. Look for something that has wireless or WLAN in it.
4. Uncheck the box beside your possible problem, and click Apply.
5. Now restart your computer and see what happens.
Best of luck
